BOYS BRIGADE CLEAN COVE BAY

Some thirty (30) members of the First and Second Anguilla Boys Brigade Companies participated in the clean-up of Cove Bay this past weekend. The beach clean-up was part of their community service programme. Cap Juluca assisted the efforts of the Brigaders by providing the bags, rakes and gloves and the removal of the debris. The five-star Resort also donated US$1,000.00 to the youth organisation and treated them to lunch after the clean-up.

This is the second year that Cap Juluca has partnered with the Boys Brigade in the clean-up of Cove Bay. In presenting the cheque, General Manager, Eustace Guishard, stated that Cap Juluca was proud to assist the Brigade in its fund-raising and community efforts. “We are particularly pleased with the approach taken by the Officers of the Boys Brigade,” he said. “By conducting the beach cleanup, they provide a community service and more importantly, they provide a valuable lesson for the young boys in the organisation. By helping to beautify and build up Anguilla, these young men are less likely to participate in violent or destructive behaviour.”
In accepting the cheque on behalf of the Boys Brigade, Lieutenants Claudius Gumbs, Doyle Hughes and Baeeson Richardson, expressed their appreciation to Cap Juluca for its continued support of the organization. The Boys Brigade is an interdenominational youth organisation attached to the Methodist Church and currently has about 80 members.
