Governor Harrison researching Anguilla's history

The Governor visited the museum on Monday afternoon, this week, where he was welcomed by the Curator and Owner, Colville L. Petty, OBE. He spent sometime engrossed in the section where exhibits mainly dating back to the 1967 Anguilla Revolution are displayed, and where he was met by The Anguillian.
“This is my second or third visit to the museum,” he told the newspaper. “I came to the museum soon after I was appointed Governor. I came back today because I have been asked to say a few words on the occasion of the Ronald Webster Day on Wednesday, and I wanted to prepare myself. I am looking again over the history of the Anguillian Revolution and to help my reflections on exactly what I should say.
“I think this is a tremendous resource because it really got the history of Anguilla from the very beginning right up to the present day, beautifully and very clearly set out. It is very easy to find your way around all the exhibits and, as I said, it is a tremendous resource for young people, the school children, to learn the history of Anguilla.
“It is also great for visitors to the island to learn about Anguilla. I had some visitors staying with me last week. They came to the museum and were tremendously impressed with it.
“But I think it is also a great resource for all Anguillians to remind themselves about the history of Anguilla and where we all came from.”
