Police: Thefts, burglaries and bestiality

During the period September 8th to 15th five burglaries were reported in the areas of South Hill, Shoal Bay, Sile Bay, Little Harbour and Island Harbour.

The items stolen included laptop computer, frozen foodstuff and a bed. There were also three thefts reported in the areas of South Hill, East End and The Valley. Items stolen included: a cell phone, digital camera and diesel.

There was one report of wounding in Stoney Ground and one of bestiality in The Quarter.

There were six traffic accidents reported, one resulting in a fatality.

Magistrate’s Court
On September 14th

• Vivian Fleming of the Long Road pleaded guilty of permitting someone to drive without a policy of insurance and was fined $1,000.00.

• Tamara Gumbs of The Farrington pleaded guilty of driving without due care and attention and was fined $2,500.00. She was fined an additional $4,000.00 for driving without being covered by insurance.
