Here are a few circumstances when people say things like that: when they see people who cannot afford to take care of the children they already have and are having more and those who can or want one cannot have. When people they know who take care of themselves and end up sick or die, while those who just don’t take care of themselves are still alive or live a long life. When some people get married several times and they themselves probably never had that opportunity. Another example is when they or others have to struggle so hard and still cannot reach their desired goal, while some people get by so easily as if they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Under such circumstances, you often hear the cry or lament - Life just is not fair!
You too might have or know other examples of how life might not have seemed fair but guess what my friends – God is faithful. Generally we seem to base the story of our lives around negative circumstances but many good and positive things happen in our lives that we ought to give God thanks for.
Whenever you are tempted to complain about the unfairness of life, just take a glance back over your life where you once were to where you are now. Pause for just a moment and do so. Do you see anything at all to be thankful for? Sure bet you do! So let us join together this very moment and pause for a minute or two and thank God for His faithfulness.
Yes, no doubt you may have experienced a setback in life, but that does not necessarily have to constitute the ‘story of your life’. It might just have been a single episode but it certainly does not have to set the tone of your entire life. God has an awesome plan and destiny in store for you. Turn your life over to Him and allow Him to fulfill His purpose in your life and you will see the difference! Life is full of options, choices and opportunities. It is up to us to choose wisely and make the most of what life throws at us. We are free-thinking and creative individuals who have the capacity to fulfill great potential. So get rid of the defeatist mentality because you have the ability to help turn your life around.
It is said that there are three types of people in the world: those who watch things happen, those who make things happen, and those who wonder what happened. Which one are you? If you are one who just likes to watch and wonder about life, you can begin today to make things happen by making a significant decision which can change your life forever. The questions to you are: What do you want out of life? And do you want more from your life? Only you can answer.
You may be going through tough times now, and your life may seem to be a mess, but take heart and be full of courage, it’s not the end. You can turn things around. You can turn that test into a testimony, that mess into a message and that trial into triumph. It is all up to you. Tough times don’t last but tough people do. It is also about what’s in your heart. You see, the heart has the power to write the story of your life.
Your life will follow the course your heart has set for you. Out of a heart of faith comes faith, and out of an overcoming spirit comes the ability to overcome. All you need is a little bit of faith and, you know what? All of us have a measure. Exercise your faith! Faith makes all things possible. Hope makes all things work. Love makes all things beautiful. You can change the future of your life to a great extent. You were not created to be a bystander or an observer, but rather an active participant over the entire spectrum of the days allotted to you.
You were created to live life to its maximum capacity. So live a life of purpose, one full of vision and hope. No matter what circumstances you may encounter or may be facing now, get up, shake yourself and move forward. Tell yourself the best is yet to come. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. The exciting impact of changing your future goes well beyond you, because when you change your life, it causes ripple effects. The lives of many others can be changed as well.
Deciding that you had enough is the first step towards change. It’s all about reaching a point of desperation where you say, “Enough is enough!!” This is the turning point. It’s amazing how those in the midst of a crisis will say how much they want their circumstances to change, but they don’t make an effort to facilitate that change. One of the greatest keys to changing your circumstances is changing the way you see yourself.
Having a vision and dream of your life is paramount. Without purpose, people live carelessly and irresponsibly. Having a vision is a powerful weapon or tool to have in your hand. In addition to that, it is worth having a few nuggets of gold: Always seek godly counsel. There will be times you will have to change your decisions according to the wisdom of godly counsel. When that time comes, don’t let pride stand in your way. Be wise to the devices and strategies of the enemy. Move with people who are moving somewhere positive. Refuse to be a victim of any kind. Get rid of excuses and people who are holding you back. Take responsibility for your life. If you want to change your future, you need to make a calculated decision about which way you want your life to go.
Life is priceless and it is worth living. Recognize every day you live as a gift from God; don’t let them slip away aimlessly. Make every second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year count. While the total number of our allotted days differs, there are some common aspects to each day. God has been fair in dealing us an equal measure. What we do with it is up to us. The past cannot be changed but the future is yet in your power. By building the right kind of days, you can build the right tomorrows. Life will be what you make of it. As someone rightly said, “Life is not about what we have or do not have, but rather about what we do or do not do. There comes a time when an event will hit you, shake you, pause you, or make you rethink. When that happens, reorganize and move on in life with more smarts - with the confidence of a survivor."
Here is a poem that was written by Mother Theresa that may inspire you:
Life
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
Remember: yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And Today is a gift that's why they call it the present. In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love. Therefore, only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.
