Gudis Hodge, daughter of Gerald and Mariette Hodge, has graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, Canada, on June 7, 2010, following the completion of a double major in Biology and Chemistry.

She admits it was a tough program but through hard work and determination it paid off. Being one of the ten black students of the 500 students graduating with a Bachelor Science degree from the Mississauga campus, it was a proud moment knowing that she was standing tall as a black, young lady and also as the only Anguillian graduating from one of the top universities in Canada.

She would like to give thanks to God for her strength because without him this part of her life would not have been successful; thanks to her family, friends and past teachers for the words of encouragement and last, but not least, her parents, for being the selfless individuals they are by financing her studies through the years.
Ms. Hodge will be commencing her post graduate studies in the near future.
