GOVERNOR STRESSES GOOD GOVERNANCE IN ANGUILLA |

Governor Alistair Harrison, speaking largely on Good Governance, an area of his constitutional responsibilities, has stressed the need for Anguilla to have government structures capable of taking the necessary policy decisions openly, efficiently and promptly; has stressed that Anguilla should be a functioning democracy, governed for the people and by the people; and that the public and private sectors should be free of corruption and dishonesty.

He welcomed the Government’s commitment to fight corruption and pointed out that when he was sworn in, fourteen months ago, he had drawn attention to events in the Turks and Caicos and the need to be vigilant so that nothing similar would happen in Anguilla.
