A press release issued by Government House on Wednesday, stated that His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Alistair Harrison, had appointed Mr. Walcott Richardson as Acting Chief Minister during the absence of Mr. Hubert Hughes, now leading a Government delegation to Brussels and London.

Mr. Richardson’s substantive appointment is Minister of Home Affairs, Labour, Immigration, Lands and Information and Broadcasting.

The release also announced the appointment of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Stanley Reid, as Acting Governor, in the absence of Mr. Harrison who is on an official visit to London and who will return to Anguilla on Tuesday, March 23.

Mr. Larry Franklin, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications Utilities, Housing, Agriculture and Fisheries, is Acting Deputy Governor.
