Yield Not To Temptation

The Editor,
The Anguillian

Dear Sir:

“YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION”

It was not funny or kind for the AUM Government’s side of the House of Assembly to have repeatedly harassed the elected representative for East End, the Honourable Jerome Roberts of the Anguilla Peoples Progressive Party, about crossing the floor during the swearing in function last week.

I think I can describe myself as apolitical. Although Mr. Roberts held his peace and remained committed to his resolve to remain in opposition in agreement with the wishes of the majority of his supporters, I felt embarrassed, and even annoyed, by the constant heckling. That was very nice of him not to yield to the temptation.

A man’s integrity must not be trampled on even in the name of national government. By the way, why was Mr. Roberts asked to abandon his party to join a so-called nationalist movement? It would not have been that bad if he was invited just as he is.
