Dear Sir,

HUMANITY VS.POLITICAL RHETORIC

Humanity is defined as being humane. Humane is defined as showing kindness and consideration for others.

Political rhetoric is defined as using words effectively and persuasively. Using words effectively and persuasively is defined as telling the people what they want to hear so that they the politicians can get what they want, "Your Vote".

Some, if not all, of our political candidates are all feeding us with plenty of political rhetoric sweetened with the promise of humanity. I always believe that for a government to serve its people at best its elected candidates should show humanity first to its people. We the people should demand that we see some humanity before they should be deserving of our vote.

We have heard all the promises for years and years from that different candidates about improving their communities and yet there are no social community activities to keep the people engage. Allowing business to operate to create jobs is not enough. Having your people on this dash for cash is not enough. We need community centers, more sporting activities, fun fares and creative workshops so people can discover they creative abilities and interact in a more positive way.
Our political candidates need to show us that they understand the meaning of community togetherness. We need more cultural events and community rituals to keep us engage. Basic community humanity should be a prerequisite for all political candidates before they should be deserving of our vote and may the best man win.

So to all the political candidates that are running for the upcoming election, please spare us the political rhetoric and show us some humanity.

Denise Crawford
