Miss Vanterpool, who graduated from the Sixth Form at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School in July this year, is presently in England enrolled at St. Mary’s College, University of London, where she is reading for a Bachelor of Laws Degree. She is also looking forward to pursuing studies in Economics at a later date.
A release from the Principal of the school, Mrs. Ingrid Lake, stated that the CAPE History Prize for Miss Vanterpool, was based on her performance in Units one and two of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) History.
The Principal stated that she was elated with Miss Vanterpool’s accomplishment. “This is yet another occasion when the school has excelled regionally,” Mrs. Lake said. In congratulating the student, she expressed the view that the award could be attributed to her diligence, disciplined approach and assiduity. She noted that it was also important to commend her parents and teachers for their support, encouragement and hard work.
Due to Ojeda’s current studies in London, it is not known when she will be in a position to travel to Trinidad to take up the prize which includes detailed tours of the Eric Williams Collection and various other historic places there. Further information is expected to be forwarded to the Principal of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School in Anguilla later.
Dr Eric Williams was a former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, a writer and historian.
