My name is Trevor Weekes. I am a resident of District One.

For ten years I have studied the politics of Anguilla. I am very interested in the upcoming election. My particular concern is the up-and–coming politicians who claim that they are so interested and believe in Anguilla’s future.

I want to take time to analyze the situation in my district. There are at least six up-and-coming politicians campaigning in this district namely: Kennedy Hodge, Sam Webster, Othlyn Vanterpool, Palmavon Webster, Joshua Hodge and Terry Harrigan all claiming to be the best representative for the district and the island. Last election, candidates ran against the incumbent, Mr. Kenneth Harrigan, who is now retiring.

My question to these candidates is: if you all are so interested in having a change for the district and island why is it that you all cannot come together and select one candidate to represent us?

I am appealing to all districts to make the same decision. Remember, it’s all about the future of tomorrow for our children.

Right now, the situation is confusing and irritating; and is like a disease to the people of Anguilla. If you all are really interested in the people of Anguilla, and want to see progress in this island, you must learn to work together. That’s my sincere belief.

So please help us to get an ease.
COME TOGETHER TO MAKE REAL CHANGE.

Thank you all very much.
