A new appointee as Head of the Governor’s Office has taken up duties in Anguilla. She is Ms Catherine Firth who has succeeded Mr. Terry Alloway, who has returned to the United Kingdom at the end of his tour of service.

Ms Firth met local reporters at the Governor’s press conference at the Executive Council’s Chambers on Monday this week. She has been with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for the past 19 years, her previous posting being in Warsaw. She arrived in Anguilla some two weeks ago.
Her duties include management of the Governor’s Office, supporting the Governor in areas of his responsibility including internal security, disaster management and financial matters. She is to carry out her functions in cooperation with the Government of Anguilla and to help foster a smooth working relationship on matters of mutual interest between the Anguilla, Government and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
She is accompanied to Anguilla by her two children, ages 5 and 7, who are attending the Valley Primary School. Ms Firth said she was looking forward to an enjoyable stay on the island.
