Letters To The Editor - TAKE THAT VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD |
| Publishing date: 14.09.2009 09:10 |
Dear Sir:
TAKE THAT VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD
|
Please accept my letter to the Editor for publication in The Anguillian. I would like my name withheld.
I would like to know why our Police Department allows a car (6305) to be parked down at the ferry [terminal area] for over a year now. This vehicle is parked along the main road where people park when they are going to take the ferry to St. Martin.
The police have been notified several times about this particular vehicle and I would like to know from the head of the police why this vehicle is still there.
The plates are old and the inspection is expired, so why haven’t the police removed this vehicle?
The police talk about working with us, but when we tell them about certain matters, they do nothing.
Who knows, may be this car was abandoned? May be it has drugs in it? May be a dead body? Who knows? The point is that Blowing Point is a port of entry and any vehicle sitting on the main road for such a long time should be investigated especially when you have a police station right at the ferry port. Why hasn’t any of these officers taken a walk around to check out their surroundings?
I would think the first thing you would do is find out who owns the vehicle and if they no longer live here, then take the vehicle to the police station and auction it off. The vehicle needs to be taken off the main road.
Disappointed
