The children of the Stoney Ground, Caul's Bottom and The Quarter area were treated to a day of fun and friendly sporting competition on Saturday August 22nd 2009. Sunset Homes, a Property Development firm in Anguilla, sponsored its seventh annual event of this kind on its office grounds located in Stoney Ground. Races for each age category included sack races, lime and spoon race, flat races, relays, tug-of-war and more.

This event comes out of an active cooperation within the community, reminiscent of traditional communal activities, where villagers come together to work on select projects. Members of the community in the area prepare for this event.

The event aims to encourage community spirit and to provide a stimulating, productive activity for the children where they can win educational prizes just in time for the re-opening of school. All children in attendance (numbering about 100) received back to school items and goodie bags, outstanding athletes received special prizes and the male and female valedictorians received US$50 each.

These two persons are Anguillians living in the US who continue to contribute back to the children of this community through various programs and events.
