While some young men have abdicated their role in society, there are some who have worked quietly and diligently to better our Anguilla. For eight years Mr. Nigel Connor, Mr. Lester Connor and Mr. Gaekwad St.Hilaire have provided free football sessions every Saturday to all youngsters on the island (of Anguilla) at the Ronald Webster Park annex.

The national male football team members have brought years of playing experience which they impart to the children of Anguilla. Boys and girls from all parts of the island regularly frequent this healthy recreational activity provided by these young men.
At these sessions youngsters are taught the fundamentals of football, while learning respect for themselves, the coaches and spectators. Most importantly, the coaches seek to inculcate sportsmanship amongst their chargees. Over fifty youngsters attend the program and consequently a number of very talented individuals have been produced. Some of them include Cody Coburn, Kamian Brooks, Voshaun Hodge, Colleen Johnson, Arron Reid, Jermal Richardson and Tarique Lake to name a few. Many of them have continued playing and have played for several teams including age-group national teams.
Sunset Homes has been providing sponsorship for the activity in terms of balls, coloured bibs and uniforms. The equipment has been rather useful to the coaches and children involved in this program. The aforementioned coaches would like to encourage parents to render some assistance on Saturdays. One parent who is assisting is Mrs. Kim Coburn. She can be seen helping with hydration of the children and removing litter and stones from the field and supporting her son. The coaches would be most happy if more parents would make their presence known.
