"Johnno's" Says Thanks For 25 Years Support

Award-winning Johnno’s Beach Stop operator, Fitzroy Edwards, said he was touched by the expressions of support and goodwill from many of his patrons regarding the 25th Anniversary of his hospitality business.

“Johnno”, as Mr. Edwards is called after his food and entertainment facility at Road Bay (one of the Caribbean’s best beaches), put on a big function there last Sunday, July 19. Although it was a well-crowded event, it would have been even bigger had it not been for the inclement weather.
“We have this trough which is coming over the northern part of the Caribbean and it really stopped a lot of people who wanted to come from St. Martin for this function, but in times like these you have to make the best of it,” the resilient Anguillian businessman commented.
The diners enjoyed a sumptuous luncheon while being entertained by two steel-band guest artistes, Dumpa Martin of Anguilla and Mr. Dow of St. Martin along with another countryman as keyboardist. “These guys just came over to Anguilla for the fun of it and to add to Johnno’s house-band,” he stated. “It is a pleasure to be here for 25 years. I am afraid to go to the microphone and give a little speech. It is too emotional for me. It is a heart-filling experience.
“I wish to thank the members of the public who come here every week and those who visit from St. Martin three or four times a month. It is a lot of pleasure seeing the repeated patrons, and I am grateful to all of them for their support over the past 25 years and for their patronage at this special celebration here today.”
