Workshop On Fraud Extremely Beneficial

Chief Immigration Officer, Laureen Bryan, has described a recent training workshop in Fraudulent Document Detection as being extremely beneficial.

The two-day workshop was aimed at personnel in frontline government and private sector agencies. The participants included Immigration, Police, Customs and airline staff.

The workshop, held at the Police Training Conference Room last week, was facilitated by Brian Crocker, Regional Immigration Integrity Officer, who is assigned to the Canadian High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica. His jurisdiction covers most of the Caribbean region.

“The training was very timely and essential in light of the number of persons who have been attempting to enter Anguilla with fraudulent documents over the past year,” Miss Bryan said.

She added that the participants found the training to be very beneficial and enlightening and that they would be using the knowledge gained to enhance the performance of their duties.

The workshop was sponsored by the Canadian High Commission which also provided training opportunities in border enforcement for Immigration Officers in the recent past.
