Situated on the private enclave of Maundays Bay Beach, and with more than a mile of white sand beach, Cap Juluca will welcome guests in September and October for the first time ever. The decision to remain open all year long was made by the resort’s new ownership after completing the first phase in its $80 million enhancement program.

In prior years, Cap Juluca opened only for the period November through August. The September/October period was used for a forced resort-wide maintenance closure, now rendered unnecessary as a result of the resort’s recent renovation.
In celebration of its new year-round opening, Cap Juluca is offering BRING A FRIEND and LINGER LONGER packages available Sept. 1- Oct. 31, 2009 with rates starting at $425* per paid night. BRING A FRIEND features a five-night complimentary stay in a second room for up to two additional people with a purchased five-night stay and LINGER LONGER offers up to five additional complimentary nights when booking a minimum five-night purchased stay.
All Cap Juluca guests also enjoy other complimentary amenities including continental breakfast served daily on their private terrace, waters sports, yoga and Pilates poolside as well as afternoon tea. In room benefits include an assortment of complimentary beverages and free wireless internet service.
Gary Thulander, Cap Juluca General Manager, believes that year-round availability is long overdue at Cap Juluca. “A number of guests that have approached me about wanting to book events or simply return for a visit in September and October and I believe that number will increase dramatically once news gets out about our being open,” says Mr. Thulander. “Cap Juluca was already among the premier resorts in the Caribbean, and our recent renovation has made it even more spectacular. I’m excited about offering year-round occupancy here, as is my staff.”
As Cap Juluca is the most prominent hotel on the island of Anguilla, Mr. Thulander believes that this decision to stay open continuously will be a boon to other Anguilla businesses that have typically experienced a marked decrease in volume during the two month period when Cap Juluca was closed. Both Cap Juluca and the island’s many businesses all seem quite eager to do their part to stimulate the Anguillian economy on a twelve months per year basis.
Several notable political officials have taken notice. “Cap Juluca must be commended for its decision to open during the months of September and October,” stated Anguilla’s
Minister of Finance, Economic Development, Investments & Tourism the Honorable Victor Banks. He continued, “For a long time our destination has been closed during those months and as a consequence it has limited the vacation time choices for persons desirous of coming to Anguilla. This decision by Cap Juluca will have a ripple effect not only on other hotels on the island but other businesses as well, to include the restaurant, transportation and entertainment sectors. In this period of reduced activity in the overall economy we can now expand our marketing efforts to maximize returns from this opportunity. While we wish Cap Juluca every success in this venture we are selfishly aware of the positive impacts this can have on Anguilla as a tourist destination.”
Trudy Nixon, Executive Director of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association, echoes the Minister’s sentiment. “The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association was delighted to hear that Cap Juluca will be open for business for the whole year in 2009. Cap Juluca’s guests are very necessary to the healthy economy of Anguilla because they traditionally enjoy not only the delights of Cap Juluca but also they travel the length and breadth of Anguilla sampling other restaurants, beaches and attractions. We have always had a small but committed group of travelers who enjoy the delights of Anguilla in the ‘quiet season’ and I am sure that Cap Juluca’s guests will really enjoy the peaceful nature and warm seas that typify a visit to Anguilla in September and October”.
Known as a serene escape providing anonymity for the affluent, significant enhancements have been made to the 179-acre retreat and its 18 iconic whitewashed Moorish villas, replete with turrets, domes and parapets.
Typically, Cap Juluca’s guest list reads like a who’s who of the social registry, and with a staff to guest room ratio of almost four to one, its intuitive service is unparalleled.
Its ambiance is intentionally romantic, with surreal vistas during the day. And after a breathtaking sunset, dramatic nightscapes of the twinkling lights of St. Maarten and miles of shimmering water shatter the moon’s reflection into a thousand pieces.
With a ban on cruise ships, casinos and high-rise buildings, guests escape to the sun kissed sanctuary of Maundays Bay, offering a unique beach respite for discerning vacationers.
