The netball event, witnessed by a number of spectators, was played at the Ronald Webster Park where the visiting teams, in particular, were welcomed by Director of Sports, Alkins Rogers, on behalf of the Government and people of Anguilla.
“Netball is about getting together. We are neighbours and we should try as much as possible to know each other,” Mr. Rogers told the players. “Don’t just think about the game but what you are going to achieve by making friends with the other teams.”

Rosemund Henderson, speaking on behalf of the President of the Anguilla Netball Association, said that the competition was the Third Annual Anguilla Day Netball Tournament. She said the teams comprised Anguilla A and B and Under 23, along with Capistair, the St. Kitts team, and the St. Maarten team which apparently had no particular name.
“We are hoping that this will not only be all about competition, but also about camaraderie and making friends as well,” she said.
