Heritage Collection Museum
Pons Site, East End
Anguilla
Dear Mr. Petty,
I hope you are well. I am writing to let you know how much we enjoyed the Heritage Collection. (I was there about 2 weeks ago.) By presenting us with the rich history of the Island, and its enduring people, the collection gave us a deeper understanding of Anguilla and the inventiveness of the Anguillian people. With its collection of photographs, artifacts and documentation, the Heritage collection is a must see for any Caribbean visitor. What struck me too, is that the museum is a piece of living history with many valuable and unique displays such as the photographs of the revolutionaries, and the centenarians, and the memorabilia from local schools. These were among my many favorites! Further, we appreciated how background details were carefully placed among the displays to provide viewers the additional context should we want more detail – and we did! Also, it was my pleasure to have met you! Fortunately, thanks to the internet, we continue to read online your contributions to The Anguillian!
Thank you very much, Mr. Petty for this labor of love! I’m enclosing a check and would like to ask, if it’s not too much trouble, if you would send me two copies of your recent book on the history of Anguilla. Please keep anything remaining after postage for the Collection.
Yours sincerely,
Olivia Steele
