Nu Life Records is a locally run gospel recording label and ministry that is the vision of Evan Brooks Jr. come to life. It is a part of a larger group of companies and ministries that include Nu Life Productions and Nu Life Ministries, all with the common goal of creating new life in those who are reached by these ministries.

Nu Life Records discovers, markets and distributes recorded music through a network of subsidiaries and joint ventures.

The recording label is headed by President Evan “E Major” Brooks Jr and Vice-President Kasseem Forde. Evan Brooks Jr is an accomplished keyboardist who has been classically trained by one of Anguilla’s best, Daphne Jacobs - Richardson, and self taught in other genres. He is also a prolific producer and song writer - having produced songs for international artists such as Emrand Henry, Hozia Hines, DA. Jay and local artists AZ-1, MarvH and Roxanne Carter. He realises that he has a distinct calling to pursue gospel music and works with others to spread the reach of Caribbean gospel internationally.

Vice-President Kasseem Forde also has a calling to gospel music and utilises his talent for promotion and management to further the career of Nu Life’s artists. This is facilitated through the three gospel radio shows that he currently hosts on some on the island’s most prominent radio stations such as 92.9 Klass Fm. He is also the director of the event production company, Nu Life Productions.
One of Nu Life Records’ top priorities is taking care of its artists. The company aims to completely finance projects and ensure that the proper marketing and promotion channels are utilised to maximize success and impact. Therefore, artists are free to concentrate solely on using their talent to minister to the souls of those who hear their music. There has already been much success in signing local artists that are talented and focused on their faith and desire to be a light to others. The local artists who have been signed to the label to date are: AZ-1 (A duo consisting of Janezcka Richardson and Shanielle Brown), MarvH (Marvin Hazell), Ruel Philip, Roxanne Carter, Shanda Webster, Felisha, Joseph Pradel and Anita Ruan. Regionally, the label has also secured the talented DA. Jay hailing from Jamaica, Kenty of Dominica and QUE of Trinidad and Tobago. One great upcoming opportunity for Nu Life artists is the Annual Gospel Explosion in Dominica which will be headlined by AZ-1 (the first artists to be signed to the label) and DA. Jay. The event will take place on May 31, 2009 and will be a great avenue to minister and enjoy an atmosphere of positive and quality gospel music.

Nu Life records has upcoming projects that are definitely worth looking forward to. In the near future, AZ-1 will be releasing three new singles on the local radio stations. Singles can also be expected from MarvH and other local artists. There will also be a compilation album that will include songs from all Nu Life’s artists both locally and regionally.

Under the direction of its President Evan Brooks Jr, and vice-president Kasseem Forde, Nu Life Records is a strong force in the gospel arena in the Caribbean and worldwide, and will be a home for all artists who are interested in taking their ministry to the millions of souls in need of a saviour. Great things should be expected of Nu Life Records as this local company provides an avenue for artists on Anguilla, and the region, to pursue and expand their talents and reach throughout the island’s and beyond.
