The C.C.B Female Football League moved into second gear last week. On Wednesday, in a thrilling encounter, defending champions Shining Stars were held to a one all draw by bottom of the table, De Youngsters FC. Morihinzi Richardson opened the scoring for Shining Stars in the second half, but Jonicia Thomas brought the youngsters level in the dying moments. Jonicia was named player of the game for her hard work in midfield.

On Saturday, Super Stars disposed of the struggling Gazelles by a score of two goals to nil. Melissa Carty opened the scoring for the stars from the penalty spot, early in the first half. Vernessa Bradley soon hit home a second goal to rip the heart out of the Gazelles. Melissa Carty was adjudged player of the game.

On Sunday, the second round kicked off with De Youngsters securing their first win of the tournament when defeated Lil Soldiers by a score of 1 goal to nil. In a match that was dominated by the Youngsters, Kennisha Xavier completed an expert solo run to hit past the Soldiers custodian, late in the second half. Tamisha Richardson of the Youngsters was voted player of the game for her outstanding work in attack. In the nightcap, Shining Stars maintained their unbeaten run when they defeated Gazelles by a score of one goal to nil. In a very exciting and emotional affair, Clardeena Richardson unleached a scortching left booter, from just outside the box, to bury Gazelles who have yet to score a goal in the tournament. Tikera Lake for Shining Stars was named player of the game.

On Saturday at 4:00 pm, Lil Soldiers and Shining Stars will do battle, while on Sunday at 3:00 pm in the first match Gazelles and Super Stars square off, and in the second game Shining Stars will come up against De Youngsters.
