The female middle distance races were dominated by the Jonicia Richardson who stated her intentions by leading all the races she participated in. Other noteworthy performances came from Nicole Gumbs in the 200m, De Ann Rogers 400m and Shinelle Proctor in the high jump. The males also made good showings in several events.
The performance that was most noteworthy was the boys U17 400m. Nicolas Gumbs fought tooth and nail to ensure victory. It was the first time in a long time that spectators saw a 400m run with so much intensity here in Anguilla.
The much anticipated men’s 100m dash was to be a clash between Emeris Rogers and Denville “Skywalker II” Ruan. However, it played out to be an easy victory for Emeris Rogers.
The meet culminated with several 4x100m relays and the spectators savored every drop of it. The Anguilla Amateur Athletics Association would like to express its sincere appreciation to all participants, judges and spectators.
