Family Fun For Children At Malliouhana Hotel With Anguilla Pepper Steppers

On Sunday, March 15th, as part of its daily children’s activities program, Malliouhana Hotel and Spa was pleased to present the Anguilla Pepper Steppers for an interactive jump rope demonstration. Malliouhana Hotel and Spa, the island’s premier hotel, incorporates a host of features designed specifically for families and children. The event was attended by a large number of hotel guests, as well as visitors from around the island.

The Pepper Steppers was started about three years ago following a visit by a group of jump ropers from Trinidad who introduced the sport as a great form of cardiovascular exercise and artistic expression. Shortly thereafter, a group of coordinators took a trip to Tortola for a jumping and skipping workshop conducted by the Bouncing Bulldogs, one of the most decorated jump roping teams in the world. “When the bulldogs performed we were heart struck by what we saw and we all said that we must have this in Anguilla. Since then, various students have been learning the skill and sport of jump roping and skipping. The students meet three times a week - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Any child can join - the only requirement is that the child be in good health as it is very demanding physically” said John Martin.

Malliouhana’s beachfront Children’s Place includes an exciting 26-foot pirate ship, a gleeful and speedy descent which culminates in a shallow pool, shallow splash pools and a soft spray fountain provides gentle fun for the toddlers; and for the more experienced swimmers, divers and jumpers seeking the ultimate big splash an 11-foot deep diving pool with 2 springboards lies adjacent to the playground.

Adjacent to the Children’s Place is the informal beachfront Le Bistro which offers an extensive children’s menu.
