On This Day, We Begin To Green Up Anguilla

The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association and its membership, in collaboration with Cap Juluca, and the Environmental Health Unit, will undertake an ongoing series of island wide clean up campaigns starting Friday March 13th, 2009.

The first activity will be a three-hour “blitz” – a roadside clean up from Island Harbour to West End, which will start at 6:00 am and end at 9:00 am.

Groups of persons will be dispatched to as many villages as possible to start the clean up. Going forward, we would like to concentrate on the clean up of items like old appliances, broken pieces of furniture etc.

We are soliciting, and anticipating, the co-operation of many of the community’s beautification and clean up groups, as well as all community minded persons.

All are welcome to get involved. If you would like to join us, or organize a group to assist us in this campaign, please call Gilda Gumbs Samuel at the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association, at 497-2944 or Mrs. Phyllis Fleming Banks at Cap Juluca at 497-6666 for more information.
