Justyna And Inna Delight Visitors At Art Café |
| Publishing date: 27.02.2009 09:59 |
The new exhibition at Art Café is the work of Justyna Miklasiewicz, the talented artist from Poland, who is well known in Anguilla as the resident artist at CuisinArt a few years ago and the winner of the People’s Choice in the International Arts Festival. This time she has called her exhibition “Candies” because she says “everything is so sweet”.

The 20 oil paintings on canvas do reveal the “sweet things” of Anguilla with paintings of children, goats, dogs, grape trees, boats at sunset and hibiscus. Her bold and colourful style of painting is very appealing and certainly captures the beauty of the island.
At the opening on Thursday February 19 a large number of persons were present to view and admire the work. An added attraction at the opening was a performance by Russian pianist Irina Kaufman-Brookes who gave a mini recital including pieces by Chopin, Rahmaninov, and Liszt.

Justyna lives in Poland and has spent the past year preparing and presenting work for Art Fairs in Europe. She has been painting works of “huge dimensions” and exhibited in Belgium, Strasbourg and Lille. Her work is at two galleries in Venice and in Belgium, as well as in Poland and of course, Anguilla. The last exhibition of Justyna’s work in Anguilla was in 2006 also at Art Café.
The paintings will be on show for the next few weeks so make sure to visit Art Café and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the breakfast and lunch served on the patio overlooking Island Harbour.
