Haemodialysis is one of three renal replacement therapies used when a patient’s kidneys are in renal failure. Therefore the provision of this service is critical to the management of persons with kidney failure requiring this type of therapy.
Historically, our yearly census has been increasing. Presently, there are thirteen (13) persons accessing this service and a waiting list is also been developed. This means that we have long exceeded our capacity. To meet the demand we have had to expand our hours of operation and acquire additional personnel. Procurement of this unit would increase our capacity to (10) chairs thus increasing our potential to address the growing demand.
The Chairman of the Board, Dr Franklyn Lloyd, and other members of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Darlene Baptiste, management and staff of the Health Authority of Anguilla would like to thank the Board of Directors of the Anguilla Social Security for this generous contribution to the development of the health services.
