DARE Course At TGOI


The Community Relations Department of The Royal Anguilla Police Force, in partnership with The Teacher Gloria Omololu Institute is pleased to announce that it has just concluded its Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) grades three (3) and four(4) programme at The Teacher Gloria Omololu Institute.

The programme began on Thursday 8th January and ended on Thursday 12th February 2009. Eleven 8-10 year old students were lectured to by Officer Augustina Carbon.

The course covered a number of topics including: drug awareness, laws and rules to keep us safe, avoiding gangs and gang violence, how to say no to drug offers in a respectful way, anger management, and tobacco & alcohol abuse among other topics.
On Thursday 19th February Officer Carbon will be moving to grades one (1) and (2) at that same school. Their course will run for a period of four weeks

Since the birth of the DARE programme on Tuesday 16th January, 2007 the lectures were well received by the students, parents, teachers and community at large. We again look forward to the same level of support for the new programme.
