ECCB Makes Presentation To Students


On Thursday, 22 January 2009, the ECCB Agency Office made presentations to students of The Valley and Island Harbour Primary Schools, and the Teacher Gloria Omololu Institute for their participation in the Financial Literacy Month (FLM) 2008, Primary Schools Essay Competition and the ECCU Financial Literacy Schools Artwork Contest. Both contests were held in October 2008 as part of the Bank’s Annual FLM activities.

Zipporah Bannister, of the Valley Primary School was adjudged Winner while Vince Webster of Island Harbour School captured second place. Students received monetary awards while their respective schools were presented

Shania Smith, a grade three student of the Island Harbour School, captured first place in the category, Kindergarten to Grade 3 in the ECCU Financial Literacy Schools Artwork Contest. In category 2, Grades 4 to 6, Kasseim Patterson of the Teacher Gloria Omololu Institute was adjudged the winner.

The contest was open to all Primary School and Secondary School students. Here on the island only Primary School Students participated; a total of 75 entries were submitted.
