Reverend Lindsay Richardson Addresses Local Rotary Club |
| Publishing date: 06.02.2009 12:03 |
On Thursday, January 22, at its regular weekly meeting, Rev. Lindsay Richardson addressed the Rotary Club to inform Rotarians about services he provides in Anguilla.
Reverend Richardson is a Correctional Services Counsellor at Her Majesty’s Prison on the island. His mandate is to work with, and provide appropriate and benevolent counselling to, the inmates of the prison.

Reverend Richardson’s talk was very informative and provided the Rotary Club members with an insight into some of the lesser-known, but important, issues of life on the island.
As Rotary tries to focus on youth and improving the lives of youth on a global basis, it is disturbing to understand that the average age of those incarcerated at the prison is dropping – that more than 50 per cent of the prison population at this time is under 30 years of age.
Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self.” We learn about the community with the goal to learning how best we can apply those ideals to the benefit of the community.
The Rotary Club meets weekly at Roy’s Bayside Grill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays for dinner.
In the photo, Reverend Richardson, left, is thanked by President-elect Lindel Brookes.
