New Headquarters of Caribbean Communications Company in Anguilla
|
The company’s new edifice will be housing a full range of state-of-the-art equipment, estimated at US$1.2 million and all references to “cable” giving the impression that it is only a cable television business will be dropped. The name of the business, which will be Caribbean Communications Company, will reflect its broad objectives of providing internet and telephone services as well as several other areas of operation involving Anguilla, Nevis and possibly other islands.
The three-storey building comprises 17 thousand square feet. It includes a call centre and accounting offices for all of the company’s on-island and off-island operations, a public service area for the Anguilla operations, an area for equipment and custom-made racks; and on the top floor are a suite of executive offices.

Later in the year the Communications Company will operate fully on digital equipment. There are at present some nine satellite dishes, seven erected on the ground with capabilities to log on to several satellites at a time and two on the roof of the building are for microwave services.
The building was built by Daddy’s Construction Company. The design drawings were done by Ian Smith with technical and other work by the company’s Director of Engineering, Fred Davies, and Kenn Banks. Members of the media were given a detailed tour of the building by the Manager of the Anguilla Operations, Damien Hughes, on Wednesday this week.
Further information on the landmark building and the services of Caribbean Communications Company will be given later.
