Exceeding Expectations

Patrick Webster took the visiting couple, Mr. & Mrs. Ridgeway, from Southern Illinois fishing in the far deep, twenty miles to the north offshore Anguilla. Mr. Ridgeway, Brett, announces to Patrick that he would like to catch a mess of fish upon shoving off from the Island Harbour pier.

However, his bluster was only a fancifully ruse as the real angler was Mrs. Ridgeway, Lori. She hooked the first Dolphinfish of the morning and proved task-worthy in every facet of fishing. The couple hails from Southern Illinois, “The Land of Lincoln” where the American pioneering spirit was memorialized and made famous. The sea was still active and fishing was mostly reserved for the hearty types. Notably, and after catching numerous fish, Lori lost track of the number she had personally caught and boated. Modestly, she made a passing reference to being an authentic country girl.

In total, 14 fish were caught including a small Wahoo amid a “mess of Dolphinfish.” The couple was able to experience authentic Anguilla fishing and culture, notwithstanding enjoying oceanic Mother Nature when away from the sight of land. Most authentically, they were able to take back to their villa fresh fish from the pristine Caribbean waters. Fisherman Patrick was happy but catching fish always makes him smile.
