Called A Production of Music and Drama, with the central theme being Emmanuel (God With Us), it was a well-scripted programme which began with welcome remarks by Ministerial Intern, Pastor Carl Hastings. “We sent out our invitations and you responded,” he said as he welcomed the large number of visitors who joined the regular congregation at the event. “We want you to know that as you fellowship with us, the Holy Spirit will bless you tremendously.”
The programme, at the Mount Fortune SDA Church on Friday 19th December, was a joint production involving members of the three Seventh-day Adventist congregations at Mount Fortune, Jireh Tabernacle at South Hill and Shemei Tabernacle at Long Bay. It opened with O Come, O Come Emmanuel sung by Lindon Swaiving followed by a narrations mainly related to the prophetic announcement and birth of the Christ Child “whose name shall be called Emmanuel.”
