Speaking at the signing of the agreement, Permanent Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Foster Rogers said it is important that we recognize in Anguilla, in terms of our unique size and our limited resources that we have within the public and private sector, that from time to time we will have to join forces to ensure we give value for money to ensure our services are done efficiently and effectively.
He said the summer festival activity in particular is one where the government of Anguilla and Rainbow FM can join together to bring services efficiently and effectively.
Rogers said the commentating and the coverage of the joint venture will not only help to double up on manpower but will also have different perspectives on the events from persons working in the private and public sector.
He said the agreement with Radio Anguilla and Rainbow FM not only shows that government is not just joining with the private sector, but shows that, “we are willing to put our money where our mouths are as we join in ventures that are beneficial to the public.”
The Permanent Secretary said Radio Anguilla and Rainbow FM will show what it really means to bring together the many different personalities so that we can produce one joint product to the people of Anguilla for the summer festival. He wished the stations luck as they continue to set the tone for joint broadcast in Anguilla.
