The contestants were given the opportunity to perform the skin-care regimen themselves under the instruction of Mrs. Brooks and Mrs. Connor. This allowed them to gain hands-on experience thus deepening their understanding of the concepts presented. All products used in the session were Mary Kay products. The skin care products were provided courtesy of the consultants.
Before beginning the process, the contestants were given the task of assessing their skin type with assistance from the consultants. The first step involved the application of Mary Kay’s Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser, used to deep clean the pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and renew the skin. This was followed by the application of moisturizer which, according to Mrs. Brooks, acts as water/hydration for the skin. She stated that just as water is essential for the preservation of the body, so is moisturizer necessary for the maintenance of the skin. Mary Kay’s Satin Lips Lip Mask was then applied to exfoliate the lips.
