In a widely-distributed press statement, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers thanked God for His grace and mercy and the entire Anguilla public for their support during their daughter’s recent illness. Tshara sustained life-threatening trauma on Thursday, June 12, when she fell in her schoolyard.
The statement from the child’s parents continued: “We would like to thank all the churches, institutions, families, groups and individuals who interceded on Tshara’s behalf. We are quite aware that God answered the prayers of all the prayer warriors in Anguilla, and around the world, who lifted her up to the Almighty and requested his intervention in this desperate situation. Tshara’s family has no doubt that it was God’s love that brought her through this harrowing ordeal.
“The family expresses sincere thanks to the medical and nursing professionals at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for their heroic and competent efforts in saving the life of an energetic child. Tshara’s well-being today is in large measure due to the exemplary and excellent emergency care she received in Anguilla at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, from doctors and nurses who refused to give up on her. We are eternally grateful to the staff of the Princess Alexandra Hospital and we pray that the institution grows from strength to strength.
“The family extends special thanks to the management, staff, parents and students of the Prophecy Pre-School who stayed with us during this difficult time. Special thanks are also extended to Pastor Danny Philip and members of the Seventh-day Adventist congregations, the Church of God of Prophecy and the Christian Fellowship Church of Anguilla, as well as the Living Hope Cathedral in St. Thomas and to all other denominations who petitioned the throne of God on her behalf. We pray that God will continue to bless and guide them as they minister to the spiritual needs of mankind.
“The outpouring of prayers, support, concern and love from family members, friends, acquaintances and even persons we never knew speak volumes to the high level of community spirit that still exists in Anguilla. In this regard we remain proud to be Anguillian and pray that God continues to bless our country and its people.
“Tshara is now recuperating at HIMS San Pablo Hospital in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She is expected to remain there for another week before traveling back to Anguilla. She is doing well and her doctors have indicated that she will recover completely in the days ahead.
“It is not possible for the family to personally express gratitude, through this medium, to all who have assisted Tshara. However, to all who have, in one way or another, offered prayers, provided assistance or given their support or advice, we say a heartfelt ‘Thank
You.’
