The New Testament Church of God, Anguilla along with the Senior Pastor Dexter Welcome and First Lady Welcome. were pleased to honor two of Anguillas spiritual “Fathers of the Nation”.

At the New Testament Church of God, Anguilla, June 15

Pastor Welcome said, “My wife and I have been in Anguilla for the past 10years and have seen the church transcend over the years. In the midst of the high and lows, prosperity and struggles, there are two beacons that still shine today. These men are the trail blazers of the Evangelical Movement in Anguilla. Between them, they have started and pastored churches in Venezuela, Antigua, Aruba, Tortola, Dominica and Anguilla, just to name a few. They have preached this gospel in almost every island of the Caribbean. These stewards are BISHOP George Connor and BISHOP David Rogers.

In talking to them, you will hear several stories of severe persecution they’ve suffered to start churches in Anguilla. Candle light revivals were the highlight in Anguilla in the 50’s and 60’s. The have fought the good fight and continue to fight today.

We say thank you for being the pillars and pioneers of what we now enjoy. What Mr. Ronald Webster is to this Nation, so are they to the church. So, with these sentiments, we The New Testament Church Body say THANK YOU and WE LOVE YOU. We the church are reaping the rewards of the last offspring of Bishop Rogers, his daughter Diane, as she spare heads the Dance Ministry at our local church. Bishop Connor’s children are sprinkled through this island making their contribution to society in their own vital way.
