During the past three years, the number and seriousness of accidents on Anguilla has increased significantly. Seven people in the last ten accidents (as of April 2008) had to be cut out of vehicles. The urgency of having two fully operational ambulances is essential to providing the best medical emergency services on Anguilla. Better equipped ambulances with compartments for live-saving equipment will ensure that the Emergency Medical Technicians have the necessary equipment to respond to accidents and emergencies.

The significance of pre-hospital treatment is critical to the management of any emergency. As such, to address the potential of trauma and medical emergencies that may arise, this public/private partnership between the Health Authority of Anguilla and Cap Juluca Hotel is of paramount importance.

We at the Authority, view this as a proactive approach to ensure that access to quality health care is never in question. This serves to remind us of the important role the Health Authority of Anguilla plays in this community. What happens in the Authority has a direct impact on everyone who resides and visits here.

The HAA Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer thank Cap Juluca Hotel for this generous donation – especially Mr Adam Aron, Owner and Mr Ricardo Perez, Chief Financial Officer who also serves as an HAA Finance and Audit Committee Member.
