Denise Carr, Executive Chef of Cuisinart Resort and Spa, Carrie Bogar, Executive Chef of Veya, and Dale Carty, Executive Chef and Owner of Tasty’s, were present in their capacity as judges and definitely had their work cut out for them as the contestants did a superb job all around.
Cuisinart Resort and Spa was very generous in not only providing the venue but the food as well. All the contestants were presented with a mystery basket of food and given 15 minutes to come up with a signature dish to put forth as their best. They had to prepare two of the same dish in which one would be used for tasting and the other would be judged for presentation. The eleven contestants were: Laureen Perkins, Veya; Guy Gumbs, Cusinart Resort and Spa; Jonathan Hughes, Cusinart Resort and Spa; Lester Gumbs. Cuisinart Resort and Spa; Glendon Carty, Ripples Restaurant; Jordel Gumbs, Cusinart Resort and Spa; Justin Hughes, Cap Juluca; Darren Connor, Zurra; Leroy Richardson (John), Zurra; Colin Yearwood, Cusinart Resort and Spa; Mitchelle Browne, Independent.
