Fun Day kicked off this year with all the teams, led by Ras Bucket, paraded around the James Ronald Webster Park. Tents were set up in the park, food was being cooked or catered, and friends, co-workers and family enjoyed a great deal of fellowship as well as friendly competition. When the parade ended at 11:15 am on May 1, all the teams lined up and listened to speeches and instructions made by the officials. The teams also enjoyed two dance presentations. Cap Juluca and Cable and Wireless squared off in creating a buzz with their respective dance teams. Although both dance teams did a fantastic job, the Klassique Academy of Dance Anguilla, members of the Cable and Wireless team, really impressed the crowd with their routine set to Michel Montano’s “Jumbie.”

Cap Juluca came prepared to win though as they had the largest number of competitors and definitely the most cheer. Although it was a close race Cap Juluca came out on top of this year’s Fun Day after coming in second last year. The event was run extremely well by the members of the Sports Department staff. They were extremely diligent in explaining the rules and keeping correct and exact records. Mr. Alkins Rogers was the MC for most of the events and kept the crowd entertained at all times with his humour and professionalism.
The finals results were:
1st Cap Juluca
2nd Pro-Team
3rd CCB and Police (tie)
4th Legal
5th Cable and Wireless
6th ANGLEC
7th Fire Department
