Mr. Bartlett was given an invitation to represent Anguilla at the American Chamber of Commerce Executives conference from August 1-4. Not only was he invited, but was given a complimentary booth which would normally cost in excess of US $4,000. The ACOCI has indeed created quite a buzz within the Chambers of the World Community and has certainly put Anguilla on the map. Mr. Bartlett mentioned, “during the commerce competition in Turkey, many were excited about the concepts we presented there and because of this we received an invitation free of charge to ACCE. Therefore, once again, we have the opportunity to represent Anguilla on the world stage.”

At the ACCE conference, there will be many speakers such as Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes, a well respected business magazine. Also in attendance will be Knight Kiplinger, one of America’s most respected economic journalists and business forecasters. Calvin’s idea of creating chamber to chamber interaction as well as making a push towards niche markets will be the focus of his dialogues with other chamber executives. When asked to describe the niche market concept, he replied, “a niche market is a specific group that you would find in a market place that one would target instead of focusing on large numbers. An example of this would be focusing on indigenous products.”

Due to the recent success of the ACOCI, they have recently been ranked among the top 21 most innovative chambers in the world. Mr. Bartlett intends to keep pushing to make Anguilla well known at this conference and later on at another conference in Curacao.
