Police Investigating Rape Case

Police in Anguilla are investigating a case in which a young woman, said to be 19, was raped by an intruder at her home in South Valley on Monday, July 23, at around 2.00 pm.

The police told the local media on Wednesday that the unknown attacker, armed with a knife, was of a dark complexion with short plaited hair (not well kept) and that his height was about 5 feet 8 inches.

At the time of the assault he was wearing a black t-shirt and blue faded jeans along with black cap and black sneakers.

The police are appealing to anyone in South Valley and the surrounding areas who may have seen anyone matching that description to make a report to the investigating police officers.

The lawmen have warned that as the attacker is still on the loose, all persons should be extra cautious and have assured the public that the police are doing all they could to bring the attacker to justice.
