Chief Minister Denies Allegations

Chief Minister Osbourne Fleming says that charges by certain persons in Anguilla that he and his Ministers are corrupt were a matter that was bothering all of them.

He made the statement at a press briefing on Tuesday, July 24.

“I came into this Government with a clean record and I intend to go out with a clean record, but recently the charges against me and members of Government are unfounded and untrue,” he emphasised.

“I believe I can go on the record and say this: that no member of this Government – none including myself – is guilty of any corrupt acts as being stated on platforms. I must make it clear that the people who have been dispensing this kind of information, will pay the price for it.

“You cannot pick up decent people’s name and toss it about. You can’t do it. I just want to say to the people of Anguilla that that is how I feel about my colleagues and about myself: that we have never engaged in anything corrupt. Never.”
