| Publishing date: 20.07.2007 09:27 |

Digicel’s four finalists for the competition
|
The ambitious individuals who turned out to try their luck at becoming the next Digicel Rising Star proved to be an extremely talented bunch. From a four man group of rap artistes to a well seasoned vocalist, there was no shortage of variety and talent.
In the judges final analysis only four could emerge as Anguilla’s finalists. Dornette King’s soulful gospel performance guaranteed her spot among the four. Catriona Lake, a semi-finalist in last years competition with her exceptionally well prepared delivery, also sealed her fate, while newcomer the extremely shy Britnee Williams overcame her shyness to render with ease a popular soca tune. Displaying his talent again, Joseph Pradel got through and rounded up the group with a confident and strong delivery of a sultry ballad.
For the judges, Carlton Pickering, Lennox Vanterpool and Phillp Zimbal Eddy, the task was difficult, but after great deliberation they were certain that these four would best represent the country.
Anguillians now join Barbados, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda and St. Kitts and Nevis in eager anticipation of the regional airing of the Digicel Rising Stars. The series begins on Saturday August 11th with a look back at Rising Stars 2006. Anguilla’s Auditions will be shown as one show in conjunction with the St. Kitts and Nevis Audition show on Sunday 2nd September and may be seen on Channel 12 by way of KCN TV.
Anguillians, the time is now to rally behind our own!!
