Shooting Of Elaine Phillips, Robberies: Police Offering Cash Rewards For Information


Police in Anguilla, anxious to solve a number of crimes, including the shooting death of Elaine Phillips and various robberies, are offering cash rewards totalling EC$75,000 for information on which the perpetrators can be arrested and convicted.


Elaine was shot and killed when two masked gunmen entered Hideaway Grocery & Hardware Department at Little Dix, owned by Abraham Harrigan, and reportedly demanded money.

A press release issued by Commissioner of Police, Keithly Benjamin, stated as follows:

“In its pursuit to bring the perpetrator(s) of the death of Elaine Phillips and those of recent robberies to justice, The Royal Anguilla Police Force is offering rewards in the sum of EC$50,000 and EC$25,000 respectively to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the assailant(s).

“The rewards are offered as an incentive to anyone with information to assist the Police in curtailing the criminal activity that has been affecting the island over the past two months. This pledge demonstrates the commitment of the Government of Anguilla in brining the criminal elements of society to justice.

“Anyone having information, which can lead to the arrest and conviction of the assailants, is encouraged to call telephone numbers 497-5300, 235-6580, 476-3475 or 497-2333 extension 3205.”
