The Webster Park Annex was sizzling with excitement last weekend as Female Football took center stage on Saturday in the second Annual Backyard Olympics, Lil Soldiers ruled supreme as they outscored their opponents in some exciting and enjoyable activities which included target shooting, donkey race, long distance shoot out, juggling and relay races.

When the dust cleared it was Lil Soldiers who emerged champions with 101 points, followed by Super Stars with 89 points and Gazelles and Shining Stars tied for third place on 76 points.

Little Carlia Johnson ready to kick off first ball

The 2007 CCB Female League officially kicked off with opening Ceremony and Soccerama on Sunday 27th March 2007. After words of encouragement by Ms. Chericia Lewis, CCB representative, Sports Director, Mr. Alkins Rogers, and Chairperson of the Female Committee, Mrs. Diana Carty, the 2007 Female League was officially opened. Two year old Carlia Johnson kicked the first ball in the 2007 CCB Female season.

Lil Soldiers were again in dominant form as they captured their second competition of the week-end, by winning the 2007 Soccerama. Lil Soldiers defeated Shining Stars on penalty kicks by a score of 4 goals to 2, and squeezed pass the Youngsters in the finals, also on penalty kicks by a score of 4 goals to 2. In other results Youngsters beat Gazelles by 3 goals to 2 and also eased pass Super Stars by a scoreline of 1 goal to nil.

The first match in the league will be played on Wednesday 28th March at 4:00 pm at the Ronald Webster Park Annex, When Super Stars take on Youngsters. On Sunday 1st April at 3:00pm Gazelles FC play Shining Stars and at 4:00pm Lil Soldiers do battle against De Youngsters. It promises to be a week full of exciting action as the CCB Female League moves into first gear.
