The current oil on canvas paintings, in black and white, red and black and red, were done by Italian artist, Justyna Miklasiewicz, who exhibited in Anguilla at Art Café last year and in 2002 and 2003 at CuisinArt Resort.

This latest series of Justyna’s works have been the continuation of her fascination for the Caribbean where she has been a frequent visitor for the past several years.

Speaking on behalf of Jusytna, Janus Pavluk said the paintings reflected her experiences in Anguilla and knowledge of the people and their culture. He said she recently held a very successful exhibition in Venice and would be holding another there in September coming. She will return to Anguilla in November and will be mounting an exhibition in December during the Arts Festival.

Asked how his art gallery was faring, Pavluk commented: “I am having a big response from tourists and other people including residents and local artists and we are selling some of the paintings as well. People love this art.”
