10/10 Off To A Good Start


The excitement of 10/10 Windball Cricket continued into week two of the tournament, sponsored by the Honourable Chief Minister and the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Osbourne Fleming and Mr. Kenneth Harrigan respectively.


The tournament, organized by the East End Sports Club and played under lights at the East End Playing Field, saw four games on Sunday 28th January.

In the first match, Razor Massive girls defeated the Mix Up team after winning the toss and opting to bat first. The Razor Girls scored 63 with Semone Harrigan leading the way with 19. In reply, Mix Up Girls made 32 off their 10 overs with Nadika Richardson scoring 11. Talitha Webster took 3 wickets for the Razors.

Game two saw newcomers Bernuth Lines going down to Deadly Force. Batting first, Deadly Force scored 138 with Carlo Gumbs making the first half century of the tournament scoring 56. Bernuth Lines replied and made 56 with Lanville Harrigan top scoring on 17.

The Lushie Team from St. Lucia, also new to the tournament, lost to Razor Massive boys in game three. The Razors batted first and scored 98 with K. Yearwood top scoring with 33. In response, Lushies scored 52 with Cyril Renee leading the scoring with 20. Enoch Hughes of the Razors took the first Hat-Trick of the tournament with figures of 2 overs, 6 runs and 3 wickets.

In game four, Blue Jays won the toss and batted first against East Eagles. Terry Adams top scored for the Blue Jays and contributed 42 to their total of 105. In reply, East Eagles scored 79, with Uriel Lake top scoring with 17.

After each game, a Man of the Match from each team is selected and receives a prize. Games continue on Sunday, beginning at 2pm.
