Traffic In Sandy Ground

Dear Sir/Madam

Traffic In Sandy Ground

We have been visiting your wonderful island for twenty (20) years and are just getting ready to return from another wonderful three-week stay at Syd-An’s Inn, in Sandy Ground, our favourite spot on the island.

We have watched with great admiration the changes and improvements that have been made over the years.

Once we discovered Anguilla, we have not vacationed anywhere else. We return repeatedly for your freindly people and friends we have made, your beautiful beaches and the peacefulness and safety of “PARADISE”.

We have always stayed in Sandy Ground and enjoy the wonderful small hotels, guest houses and fabulous restaurants Sandy Ground has to offer. Like many others who stay in Sandy Ground, we walk most places and enjoy the variety to be had.
We are writing to express our concern about the speed of traffic through this quiet village. Four speed bumps have been put in as you enter Sandy Ground and this has greatly slowed traffic, but our concern is that from Ripples to the Pump House, there are no speed bumps and cars race through this little village street at frightening speeds. Walking to and from the beach and restauranats is very worrysome.
There is a great deal of fast traffic along this span, due to the hotels, guest houses and restaurants, not to mention the cruise ships that come in allowing passengers to walk and sightsee as well as the wonderful families that reside here.
We would hope that a few additional speed bumps might ensure the safety and security of those of us who walk, as well as keep the wonderful children of Sandy Ground, dogs and cherished goats safer.
We love your island and hope that our suggestion is not offensive.
We look forward to hearing from you and, most of all, we look forward as always to returning to “PARADISE”.

Thank you,
Sincerely
Cheryle & Ray Francis
