In observance of the two anniversaries, C&W has planned a week of activities which include events for staff, customers and members of the public. The week of celebration begins on Sunday 29 October with members of staff worshipping with the congregation at the St Augustine’s Anglican Church in East End.

Monday 30 October is Health Day at Cable & Wireless and customers and staff will have the opportunity hear presentations on HIV/AIDS, Diabetes and Hypertension as well as have their blood sugar and pressure levels checked. This activity begins at 9:00am. There will also be a brief message from the Chief Executive Sutcliffe Hodge which will be broadcast by local radio stations.

On Tuesday 31st October C&W employees will visit some of the schools, chat with the students a little about the history of Cable & Wireless in Anguilla and make presentations of stationary and other school supplies to them.

The celebratory activities continue with Customer Appreciation Day and Open House on Wednesday 1 November when customers will have the opportunity to tour the telecommunications facilities and see what happens behind the scenes. Thursday 2 November will see staff members visiting the schools not visited on Tuesday, as well as both of the Senior Citizens homes. The elders will be treated to an interlude of music by the Super Fly String Band and will be presented with gifts of appreciation on behalf of the company.

Anniversary activities wind down with a staff luncheon on Friday 3 November and on Saturday 4 November 2006 all are invited to join the early morning walk beginning at 5:00am, starting at Telecoms House and ending at Shoal Bay.

Cable & Wireless takes the occasion of its 35th anniversary to thank the people of Anguilla for allowing them the opportunity to serve them since 1971. Over the years Anguilla has grown by leaps and bounds and the telecommunications industry globally has also gone through rapid advancements. C&W has delivered to its customers in Anguilla the most sophisticated technologies anywhere and will continue to do so, now and in the future. Its has been 35 years and counting.
